Our products provide software development teams with cutting-edge AI capabilities like code autocomplete, in-editor chat assistants, and more, integrated into over 40 popular IDEs. Our company was founded in 2021, has grown to 200 people, and has secured $243M in total funding. We are looking to aggressively expand our Deployed Engineer teams in key locations.
About the Role: As a Pre-sales Deployed Engineer, you will play a crucial role in transforming customers' software development workflows using our AI coding tools. You will collaborate closely with the Sales team to qualify and close opportunities, acting as the key technical advisor and product advocate throughout the sales cycle. We are looking to hire 6-10 candidates for this role.

Key Responsibilities:
- Present our company's vision, product benefits, and differentiators to stakeholders at all levels, from individual developers to the C-suite.
- Drive technical product discussions, conduct evaluations, and showcase how our tools address diverse customer use cases.
- Deliver technical training and create supporting documentation for clients.
- Proficiency in Git.
- Proficiency in at least two object-oriented programming languages (e.g., JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Java, C++, or C#) – comfortable reading and writing code.
- Comfortable coding within an IDE (e.g., VSCode, JetBrains).
- Familiarity with AI-powered developer tools (e.g., Codeium, Copilot, ChatGPT) and excitement for emerging technologies like Large Language Models (LLMs).

- Experience: 2-4 years of experience in a software engineering role.
- Pre-sales Experience: At least 9 months of solutions/pre-sales engineering experience for a technical product (developer tool products highly preferred).
- Education: Computer Science undergraduate degree from a top 25 CS program.
- Programming Skills: Strong programming skills in any OOP language, sufficient to pair program with customers if needed.
- Communication: Ability to communicate complex technical concepts in a clear, articulate way to software developers.
- Executive Presence: Strong executive presence and ability to lead product kickoffs with customers.
- Motivation: Evidence of or clear motivations for moving into a sales-oriented role.
- Adaptability: Ability to learn quickly, work independently, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Traits to Avoid:
- Candidates who have spent many years in Big Tech.
- Frequent job hoppers.
- Candidates who have spent more than seven consecutive years in non-coding pre-sales roles.

- Salary (Base): $9.5,000 - $13,000.
- On-Target Earnings (OTE): Range = $160,000 - $220,000 (with a 70/30 split between base and variable).
- Variable Compensation: $48,000 - $66,000 (50% global performance / 50% individual performance, with uncapped potential through accelerators once quota is exceeded).
- Equity: Competitive equity package.
- Visa Sponsorship: Available for exceptional candidates (e.g., CS PhD from a top CS program with relevant visa status).
